WINDSHIELD REPAIR
Windshield chips and cracks caused by rocks and other road debris are not only an inconvenience but also a safety hazard and it is important to get it fixed right away. Chips and small cracks have a tendency to spread into larger cracks over time due to increased pressure caused by driving. Getting a small windshield chip repaired is much more convenient and less costly than having to replace the entire windshield.
Will it cost me anything to get my windshield repaired?
If you have insurance, most companies will cover the cost of repair and even waive any deductibles you may have. Due the larger cost of windshields, most insurance companies will waive your deductible if you get your windshield repaired instead of replaced. On top of this, virtually all insurers consider windshield repair to be a no-fault claim, which means your policy rates won't be affected!

Will a windshield repair cause the damage to disappear?
Windshield repair restores the integrity of the auto glass and improves the appearance of the damage. Its main purpose is to keep the damage from turning into an even larger crack. It's very rare for a chip to disappear, which is why we recommend replacing the windshield if the damage is in your line-of-view.

How does the process work?
1. The first step in repairing a windshield is cleaning the damaged area. For a successful repair job it is important that any contaminants (dirt, moisture, etc.) are removed from the damaged site. This means that it is important to get chips, dings and cracks repaired as soon as possible. Moisture can expand and contract with temperature changes, causing cracks and starbursts to grow. Dirt or other contaminants can create problems in filling the damaged areas and leave unsightly scars after the work is done.

2. Second, the windshield must be repaired by filling the damaged glass (via drilling and injection) with a resin that mimics glass. The resin is injected into the drilled area after a vacuum is created. Creating the vacuum prevents lingering air pockets and reduces the stress on the glass as resin is infused. Most repairs do leave a small ‘scar’, however, major cracks or damage that interfere with the driver’s sight should be discussed. It may be necessary to replace the windshield in these cases. We cannot determine the cosmetic appearance of every repair and some may still be visible after the work is completed, but we do guarantee the chip to be structurally sound.

3. Finally, the resin must be ‘cured’ or set, so that it is no longer a liquid, but a solid adhesive that binds the broken glass together. The curing process is accelerated through the use of a specialized light so that the automobile can be driven immediately after the repair is completed.
